WordStar for WindowsRestoring a Missing or Damaged wsw.ini File Introduction Problems that can occur if the wsw.ini file is missing or damaged include the wrong default font or template being used by WordStar for Windows (see Q1006). There is a 'template' for this file in the WordStar for Windows installation directory (usually C:\WSWIN) called WSWINI.TXT. Restoring a Missing or Damaged wsw.ini File If the original file is lost WordStar for Windows will recreate the basic settings but all of the explanations and other options will be missing. To overcome this follow the steps below:
Note: Any other changes you may have made to the wsw.ini file, such as changing the default character set to maintain extended characters during a mail merge, for example, (see Q1003) or for font substitution, will need to be re-entered directly into the wsw.ini file using a plain text editor like the Windows NotePad program.
