WordStar 7 Printer Support

This page lists printers supported by WordStar for DOS. The main list is based on the printers supported by WordStar 7d. Additional printers and suitable driver details have been included where known.

The list will also include printers that are not supported by WordStar's printer drivers. If you intend to print directly from within WordStar you should avoid such printers, which as a general guide are called GDI printers. These normally need Microsoft Windows to work at all. Therefore, when buying a new printer you should always check to see if the printer has DOS drivers available.

This particular site is very new, so keep coming back to check for new items of interest. Also, if you have any information on printing in WordStar, additional printers that you know do work, or that deffinately don't, or you know of additional drivers that are freely available please let me know and I'll either post them here or link to your own site.

WordStar 7 Supported Printer List

How to use this list:

• First, select your printer manufacturer using the A-Z links below, and then in the tables, the manufacturer's name links.
• Then, look for your printer model in the list for that manufacturer.
• Next, look in the RH column for the driver location in PRCHANGE. If Extra database is listed, you may need to download this - select the link to take you to the details for that database file.
• The Extra Database files are linked to downloadable files on the TLC ftp site, and other sites on the Web.

The Extra Database files are hosted on this site, with TLC's permission.

TLC had a small number of additional printer files stored seperately. These are listed on this page.

Where the 'Setting in PRCHANGE' lists 'Extra Database' click the link to go to the printer list and driver details for that database. All other listed printers are supported in the default drivers supplied with WordStar 7.
