What Y2K problems does WordStar DOS have?

WordStar 7

No known problems with WordStar itself. However, maillist uses a two digit year so if you use that you may have some problems.

WordStar 7 (Textbook Edition)

No known problems.

WordStar 6

WordStar 6 doesn't use the date for anything except the macro that prints the date, and it gets that from the computer. If your computer and operating system are Y2K-compliant, then WordStar 6 should be fine.

WordStar 5.5

WS5 should continue to work as long as the rest of your computer is Y2K compliant. There is nothing inherent in a WS5 text file that would create problems. The only that may cause a problem is dates used in Headers and Footers to denote when you printed a file, and that's only if you use the long form, Month Day, 19XX as it will say 1900. If you use MM/DD/YY it will happily show 00 for the year.

WordStar 4

No known problems.

WordStar 4 Pro

No known problems.

WordStar 3

WS3 should continue to work as long as the rest of your computer is Y2K compliant.

WordStar 2000

Not known.

WordStar (CP/M Versions)

Not known.
