Introduction

The Learning Company has disbanded its ftp support site and has asked that the files that used to be provided are now hosted here.

Note: The downloads are not currently available but will be added again as soon as possible. If you need a particular file from those listed here please leave a request on the discussion forum

If the file contains references to a specific version of WordStar, that has been noted in the table. However, it is your own responsibility to check applicability.

See below for general instructions on the use of these files. The files are listed in alphabetical order.

Note: file sizes are approximate.

WSW-DEMO.EXE

Self-extracting Zip file (980Kb)
This is a repeat of the CMPRDEMO.EXE files but with the README.1ST and INSTALL.BAT files above. These three files have not been made available separately here as they are all contained within the WSW-DEMO.EXE file.

To use, copy the WSW-DEMO.EXE file into a new folder on your PC and double-click it to expand the files. Read the README.1st text file for further instructions.

You may also just double-click on the CMPRDEMO.EXE file to expand the files within that zip archive, then run the presentation by double-clicking the SHOW.BAT file.

Use of the Files

After downloading any of these files:

  1. Copy them into a temporary directory (preferably an empty one).
  2. Expand the self extracting Zip archives by trying their name and then pressing, or by double-clicking on the file from within File Manager or Windows Explorer.
  3. Look for a readme.txt or similar file and follow the instructions there.

Note: If you extract the files directly into your WordStar directory you could overwrite existing files and stop WordStar for windows from working correctly!

BACKUP your WordStar for Windows directory and any configuration files BEFORE making changes that you may wish to undo later.
